THE GEEZER GALLERY CORPORATE SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM

The Geezer Gallery is dedicated to supporting older adults as they experience the challenges and opportunities of aging. Research shows that active participation in professional art programming improves quality of life and promotes physical, mental and emotional health, and social engagement. Therefore, we engage older adults in therapeutic arts programs to positively impact their health and quality of life. The following are examples of our stellar, evidence-based therapeutic arts programs that are designed to meet the goals of mastery and social engagement by stimulating imaginative thinking, problem-solving and creative expression:

Moment-To-Moment for patients with Alzheimer’s

Customized on-going weekly arts program for individuals with cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s type dementia that enables them to create and complete a unique art piece each week and provide them with a professionally bound portfolio at the end of the program.

Capturing Time: Journaling Your Journey

The unique curriculum that TGG developed to enhance older adults’ physical and mental health and increased socialization, by creating their own unique book of thoughts and/or remembrances about a meaningful experience in their life, learning and incorporating visual art and storytelling to express who they are and what they have experienced.

Program participants report less depression and apathy, less pain, increased social
engagement and self-esteem and perception of self-mastery during and following our programs. TGG’s corporate sponsorships fund the evidence-based programs that help us implement these programs.

The Geezer Gallery is a registered non-profit arts organization devoted to celebrating master-level senior artists. Proceeds from art sales help fund therapeutic art programs for seniors in our community. These creative programs are designed to enable brain-cell growth, dexterity, and opportunity for self-expression and foster social connections for at-risk seniors. The Geezer Gallery also creates intergenerational art where seniors and youth come together.

THE GEEZER GALLERY PROGRAMS AT A GLANCE

Program Goals: The Geezer Gallery is dedicated to supporting older adults as they experience the challenges and opportunities of aging. Our mission is based on the rapid population growth of older people, which increases the strain on our social and healthcare systems. TGG recognizes that older people experience special vulnerabilities economically, socially, physically and mentally, but that creative pursuits can have a significant positive impact on their health and well being.

Name(Required)

Planned Giving provides many tax benefits through the use of:

Gifting Appreciated Assets

Making a gift of appreciated investments such as stocks or other securities can result in bypassing capital gains tax. For example if you contributed to any of our programs a stock purchased at $50,000 which is now worth $100,000 you could avoid paying the capital gains tax on the profit. Furthermore, you could deduct the full $100,000 value of the gift immediately on your tax return.

Charitable Gift Annuity

A Charitable Gift Annuity can provide a lifetime of income for you and your spouse while providing an immediate tax deduction. The annuity may be funded through cash or securities and provides an income benefit to you now and a donation to Geezer Gallery later.

Charitable Trusts

  • Charitable Trusts are designed to reduce the estate tax burden on your heirs. Donors may utilize a Charitable Lead or Remainder Trust to provide income and tax benefits for their family and estate.
  • A Charitable Lead Trust pays income to your chosen charity for a certain period of years after your death. Once the period is up, the trust principal passes to your family members or heirs.
  • A Charitable Remainder Trust is the mirror image or the Charitable Lead Trust. Trust income is payable to your family members or other heirs for a period of years after your death or for the lifetime of one of more beneficiaries. Then, the principal goes to the designated charity.
  • Depending on which type of trust you use, the dollar value of the lead (income) interest or the remainder interest produces the estate tax charitable deduction.
  • Charitable Trusts may typically hold cash, securities and/or real property.

Life Insurance

Often life insurance allows donors to make a much larger gift than they could with another asset. This can be done through the creation of a new life insurance policy where your donation funds pay for the premiums, or, through the gifting of existing life insurance.
